I am super excited to announce that I will be the featured artist at the Cartersville Public Library. My photography will be on display August through September with a meet the artist receptions on August 8th from 5-6pm. It would be awesome to have some of you come out and see me (especially since I have a small family). Hey! There will be free snacks...and some cool photography. There will also be a write up about the exhibition in this Sunday's edition of the Daily Tribune. Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate having my picture taken, but I am willing to make an exception since this is such an honor. But don't be surprised if I am not alone in the picture. What do I mean? I guess you will have to buy the paper to see.
A super exciting one day event will be happening next week at MarketPlace120....Gifts, Galore and More....will be this coming Tuesday April 25th from 10a - 4p. There are so many reasons to come out! First of all, there will an incredible amount of awesome gifts, many of which are one of a kind artist created. Great finds that you can stash away for later. You know it is never to early to shop for the holidays. Second there will be hourly door prize drawings for super cool items. All of the artists and vendors are donating something towards these drawings. I am personally donating one of my fine art 8x10 matted photographs...and you get to pick which one you want! Third, there will be food and come on, every one likes free food...am I right? Yes! And finally, I will be there and I will give anyone who mentions this blog post an additional 10% off! So mark your calendar and make sure you come out for this great one day event.
I am super excited about the upcoming "Picturium" at MarketPlace120 in Marietta. The show will be on all month long but the opening is this coming Saturday April 8, 2017 for 4-7p. I am not supposed to say this (but I am often rule breaker... ok not really...but sometimes) but there will be FREE WINE! and food! Yes! That should be some sort of incentive...right? So why not come to the opening? I will have some of my more provocative photography at this show. Provocative? you ask. Well, I am not a super proactive type when it comes to my photography, but I do have an edgy side. Curious? Well...come see for yourself.
Below is a flyer for the event and one of my pictures titled "Smoking Weed" Enjoy
Here I am blogging away again. This time the exciting news is about the NW Georgia Women's Expo that is going to be at the Clarence Brown Center in Cartersville this coming Saturday from 9-4. I will be part of the artesian market with a booth, a banner and all that good stuff. I am excited that I have gotten a whole bunch of samples in and I will be offering some special discounts to anyone who books a session while they are at the Expo. And if that wasn't enough good stuff, I will also have for sale not only photo gifts and cards but some of my up cycled jewelry! Right now the weatherman is saying that it is supposed to rain on Saturday, so it will be a perfect day to spend sometime indoors at the Women's Expo!
I think I mentioned last time that I am not a blogger....hmmm....maybe that is why I keep forgetting to blog. But that doesn't mean that things are not happening! Yep, one door closes and another one opens. That is what life is about or so it seems. Spring Place Pottery and Artist Gallery in Cartersville, GA closed it's doors this month. It had been the home for my fine art photography for the last year and a half. I worked there about once a week and I loved it and the people...especially the people. So the closing left a lot of us artists scrambling to find new venues in which to sell our art. Now I don't think I have mentioned Becky...no I am sure I haven't. Well, Becky Broome is my partner in artistic crime...I mean adventures and she is awesome! She came up with this great idea to put my photography on coaster sets, glass cutting boards and trivets. Pretty clever huh? So I take the pictures and she puts them on cool stuff. And we now have our beautiful work at MarketPlace 120 in Marietta, GA. (that would be 562 Wylie Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30067 - because I know you want to stop by and see all the incredible stuff they have!) Here are a couple of pictures of our space. We are not totally done with it, so consider it a sneak preview. And we are going to plan some sort of "opening" event. Stay tuned!
